Louisiana Folklorist Being Honored By NEA

An anthropologist from Louisiana is among those being recognized as a 2023 National Heritage Fellow.

Folklorist Nick Spitzer, plus Mississippi blues musician R.L. Boyce, and seven others will be celebrated later this month by the National Endowment for the Arts.

Both Spitzer and Boyce will be accepting the NEA's Bess Lomax Hawes National Heritage Fellowship, which includes a $25,000 award.
