A proposed partnership between LCMC Health and Tulane University now has the go-ahead from a federal judge.

Judge Lance Africk's ruling on Wednesday approved a deal that had been held up by a lawsuit from the Federal Trade Commission.

The decision appears to clear the way for LCMC's acquisitions of Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, Tulane Lakeside Hospital in Metairie, and Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Mandeville.

The planned expansion of LCMC's regional presence was announced a year ago.
