Halloween is still big business in New Orleans.
The city has become an international tourist destination for the spooky season because of its gothic pop-culture image and haunted reputation.
Thousands of revelers showed up for the party on Tuesday and beforehand.
Kelly Schulz of New Orleans & Co. says hotels in the French Quarter and downtown were more than 90 percent occupied last weekend.
Other visitors stayed with friends and relatives or in STRs.
Most of the tourists ate at local restaurants and spent money in the shops.
