In addition to the ongoing statewide burn ban, a red flag warning is now in effect.
The National Weather Service issued the warning, which indicates critical fire weather conditions, in response to the wind that came in with the cool front.
The Louisiana Fire Marshal's Office has given parishes the choice of opting out of the burn ban, but some parishes that have done so have reversed the decision.
The red flag warning will be in effect until tonight.
