Louisiana Governor-Elect Jeff Landry is announcing more members of his upcoming administration.

Speaking in Lafayette on Wednesday, Landry said former Louisiana House Speaker Taylor Barras will be his commissioner and former Ascension Parish chief administrative officer Patrick Goldsmith will serve as deputy commissioner.

The Office of Commissioner is responsible for Louisiana finances, including the drafting of the state budget.

Landry said the office is where "protecting the taxpayers starts."
