Louisiana's statewide burn ban is no longer in effect.
The State Fire Marshal's Office lifted the ban at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The burn ban was issued in August in the midst of the summer's drought and heat wave. It was modified in late September to allow individual parishes to opt out of the ban.
A burn ban is still in place in Livingston Parish until further notice.
Officials remind residents that the only items that can be burned legally in the state are vegetation and yard waste.
That means no plastic, tires, paints, chemicals, or paper products.
