State officials are revealing the dates for upcoming planned special legislative sessions on redistricting and crime.
The incoming state Senate president and House speaker recently emailed Louisiana lawmakers, telling them the special session on redistricting will start on January 15 and the special session on crime is set to begin February 19.
Incoming Governor Jeff Landry will be inaugurated on January 8, followed by a five-day waiting period before the legislature can gavel in.
