A 16-year-old boy is in custody and accused of the fatal shooting of a visitor from Washington state.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's office says 32-year-old Jacob Carter was shot and killed at the intersection of Bourbon and Kerlerec Streets.

Carter was the co-founder of a bagel shop in Tacoma.

He was killed during an apparent armed robbery around 1:30 a.m. a week ago Friday in the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood of New Orleans.

The suspect's name hasn't been released because of his age. He will be charged with murder.
