The Louisiana Supreme Court is allowing the sex crimes conviction and sentence of former St. Tammany Parish sheriff Jack Strain to stand.
The high court on Wednesday denied a writ application from Strain, who wanted a review after an appeals court last June affirmed the results of his November 2021 trial.
Strain was convicted of rape, incest, sexual battery, and molesting a juvenile.
The rape charges alone resulted in four life sentences with no possibility of parole, with more penalties imposed for the other convictions.
