A king cake distributor in Metairie is reporting the theft of 100 king cakes from its delivery van early Tuesday morning.
King Cake Drive-Thru works out of the parking lot of a tire store on Metairie Road, selling cakes from bakeries such as Brennan's, Bywater Bakery, and Gambino's.
The business owner posted news of the theft on social media, noting that the thieves also damaged their van and stole a winter jacket.
King Cake Drive-Thru opened earlier this month and operates on weekends.
