Cantrell, Kirkpatrick Welcome Help Of Proposed "Troop NOLA"

Mayor LaToya Cantrell and NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick both welcome a plan to deploy state troopers to New Orleans year-round.

Kirkpatrick says the presence of Troop NOLA will help the understaffed city police with their response times.

Cantrell says the city is already looking ahead to hosting next year's Super Bowl.

Gov. Jeff Landry says he'll work with the legislature in an upcoming special session on crime to get the funds to place the troopers in New Orleans.
