The Saints are locking up one of their team captains with a new contract as they agree to a two-year contract extension with linebacker Demario Davis.

The just over $17 million pact includes around $13 million in guaranteed money.

The deal will help cut his salary cap hit for the upcoming season in half.

The 35-year-old totaled 121 tackles and six-and-a-half sacks last season.

In other personnel moves, team officials say 27-year-old Zack Baun inked a deal with the Eagles Monday.

The team's third-round pick in 2020 started six games for the Saints last season, racking up two sacks, one interception and four quarterback hits.

The announcement follows other news from yesterday that Saints defensive back Lonnie Johnson Jr. had signed a one-year, two-point-five-million-dollar contract with Houston.
