Bill Filed To Rename Highway 11 Bridge To Honor Jimmy Buffett

A stretch of highway in Louisiana could be renamed to honor the late Jimmy Buffett.

A bill would change a portion of the Highway 11 bridge to the "Jimmy Buffett 'Changes in Latitude' Memorial Crossing."

The singer moved to New Orleans in the late 60s, playing street performances for tourists. His band was also a long-time favorite at JazzFest.

The proposed law would require the Department of Transportation and Development to put up appropriate signs reflecting the name change.
