New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell's administration is handing control of the Pontalba Apartment to the French Market Corporation.
The City Council passed a resolution last August allowing the apartment to be leased in order to generate revenue for the city. But the mayor's office held onto the keys for six months.
The French Market Corporation has notified the City Council that it will secure the apartment and prepare it to be leased.
