Funeral arrangements are pending for New Orleans R&B singer and pianist Clarence "Frogman" Henry, who died Sunday at age 87.

The longtime Algiers resident had a hit in 1956 with the novelty tune "Ain't Got No Home."

He toured with the Beatles in 1964, and performed at last year's New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in a wheelchair.

Mayor LaToya Cantrell and U.S. Congressman Troy Carter both issued statements on Monday remembering Henry.

"He came up during a time when our local music scene was thriving, and his name will be remembered among the greats," noted Cantrell.

ā€œHis enduring hits and unique voice ensure that the rhythm of the ā€˜Frogmanā€™ will resonate in the heart of New Orleans for generations to come," said Carter.
