State officials are issuing fish consumption advisories for 11 Louisiana bodies of water.
The advisories from the Departments of Health, Environmental Quality, and Wildlife and Fisheries are prompted by concerns about mercury.
The latest advisories include a new warning for Lake Maurepas and updates to ten previously issued warnings for other lakes and bayous, Toledo Bend Reservoir among them.
Mercury contamination has led to fish consumption advisories for 51 Louisiana waterways and one for the Gulf of Mexico.
