House Committee Refuses To Add Rape, Incest Exceptions To La. Abortion Ban

Exceptions for rape and incest won't be added to Louisiana's abortion ban.

The House Administration of Criminal Justice Committee voted 7-4 to reject the changes.

The committee's pro-life majority said they're more interested in punishing the rapist than the innocent child resulting from his illegal action.

Rep. Delisha Boyd, a New Orleans Democrat who had proposed the bill to make the changes, says she'll try again every year until the bill passes.
