The New Orleans City Council is taking steps to increase its involvement in the proposed River District development project.
The billion-dollar project will feature a hotel, corporate headquarters, affordable housing, and a golf entertainment venue just upriver from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
On Monday, the city council's Governmental Affairs committee put forward a new agreement to make the city a full partner with the convention center and the River District Neighborhood Investors group.
