One Dead, Two Injured After Tree Falls On Port Allen Home In Heavy Weather

One person is dead and two others are in the hospital after high winds knocked a tree onto a Port Allen home on Monday evening.

The West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office says the tree toppled onto a home on Rougon Road near Ronald Regan Highway around 7:30 p.m.

Kristin Browning, 31, of Port Allen died inside the home. The Sheriff's Office says family members told deputies that Browning was pregnant.

A man and a five-year-old girl were also rescued and reportedly suffered mild to moderate injuries.

A second storm-related death is reported in Cecilia, just outside Lafayette.

The St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office says a camper flipped over in a suspected tornado.

The occupant, 24-year-old Lydia Stegall of Bronson, Texas, was pronounced dead on the scene due to injury.

As the system moved through southwest Louisiana, high winds blew a car off the road in Sulphur.

Heather Cormier was driving along North Cities Service Highway when flying debris hit her car. Her car landed upside down on the other side of the street. She says she went to the hospital to be checked out afterward.

Local residents are reporting significant storm damage in Sulphur.
