Gov. Jeff Landry and State Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley are presenting recommendations for improving education in Louisiana.
The state is ranked 40th in the nation for grades Pre-K through 12.
At a news conference on Wednesday, Landry said it's time for teachers to get back to teaching.
Dr. Brumley made recommendations about professional learning, required training, student behavior and discipline, curriculum and instruction, and classroom planning.
He also said teachers want to "get the cellphones out of the classroom."
