A call for a constitutional convention this summer is apparently dead in the water.
Louisiana Republicans wanted it as a way to make major changes. But the head of the Senate and Governmental Affairs Committee is refusing to put it on the agenda.
There is the possibility that lawmakers could meet in a special session to propose changes to constitution, but that would be up to Gov. Jeff Landry.
