Houma Teen Arrested For Trying To Set Fire To House With Lighter Fluid

An 18-year-old Houma man is in custody and accused of trying to set a house on fire with lighter fluid.

Terrebonne Parish deputies responded around noon on Tuesday to a reported disturbance at a home on Ja Don Drive.

The caller told deputies that Hunter Lirette had sprayed the house and the caller with lighter fluid and had tried to light it.

Deputies found Lirette hiding in some nearby woods.

They arrested him for attempted aggravated arson and unrelated outstanding warrants.
