Jefferson Parish Schools OK Pay Raises For Teachers, Staff

Jefferson Parish teachers and school support staff are in for a five-percent pay raise in the coming year.

The school board approved the pay increase during Wednesday evening's meeting.

Coaches in the district will receive a pay raise of about nine-percent.

Board members say last year's consolidations, including some unpopular school closures, made the pay raises possible.
