The former director of the Orleans Parish Communications District faces charges related to a crash last year involving his city-owned vehicle.
A grand jury indicted Tyrell Morris on Thursday for impersonating an officer, malfeasance in office, insurance fraud, and injuring public records.
Morris reportedly used to vehicle to impersonate an officer, failed to undergo mandatory drug and alcohol tests after the accident, filed a fraudulent insurance claim, and altered or deleted the vehicle policy of the Communications District.
