The resentencing for Cardell Hayes is postponed until next month.
Hayes was convicted of manslaughter in January for the fatal shooting of former New Orleans Saints star Will Smith following a fender-bender in 2016.
In April, the 36-year-old Hayes was sentenced to 25 years. His defense attorneys claimed the sentence was illegal.
Hayes was scheduled to be resentenced on Monday, but because Smith's wife couldn't be present, the judge agreed with prosecutors to postpone the resentencing to July 22.
