Two NOLA Establishments Honored At James Beard Foundation Awards

A couple of favorite New Orleans establishments are recognized as the best in the nation by the James Beard Foundation.

The awards were presented on Monday night in Chicago.

The French Quarter tavern Jewel of the South was named the nation's Outstanding Bar.

The West African-style Dakar NOLA was named the nation's Best New Restaurant.

There was another New Orleans contender at the Beard awards. Saffron's Arvinder Vilkhu was a finalist for the honor of Best Chef, South.
