One Of Two Girls Abducted From Loranger Found Dead, Suspect Arrested

UPDATE 4:30 pm 6/13/24: The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office says the body of four-year-old Erin Brunett was recovered Thursday afternoon. Her six-year-old sister, Jalie, is safe and unharmed.

A suspect, identified as Daniel Callahan, is in custody. He was captured in Jackson, MS.

An AMBER alert was issued for the two after the discovery of their mother's body.

The body of a 35-year-old Loranger woman has been found at her home on North Cooper Road today.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office has not released a cause or manner of death for Callie Brunett, who was reported missing by her family about 24 hours before her body was located.

The Louisiana State Police have issued an Amber Alert for her two children who were reportedly abducted just before 8 a.m. today.

The children are four-year-old Erin Brunett and six-year-old Jalie Brunett.

Deputies say Brunet's black 2012 Chrysler 200 with Louisiana license plates is also missing.

Anyone with information about the children or the vehicle is asked to contact the sheriff's office or 911.
