Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams says the new Troop NOLA of the Louisiana State Police are getting the job done in the fight against crime.

The troop says that as of last Thursday, its officers had made 19 arrests and 94 traffic stops, seized narcotics, confiscated a dozen illegally possessed guns, and recovered six stolen vehicles.

Williams said on Monday he talks with Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill every week about how to make sure the crime rate in New Orleans continues to go down.
