LSU Offers To Pay Local Freshmen $3,000 To Live Off Campus

LSU is offering freshmen who live within 30 minutes of the campus an incentive of $3,000 to live at home this semester.

Residential Life Executive Director Peter Trentacoste says more students want to live on campus this fall than expected.

He says the incentive to commute is a matter of "occupancy management," or opening up space in the dorms.

Trentacoste says the incentive will be offered until enough local freshmen agree to it.
