An oil spill is under investigation in Bayou Lafourche in Raceland.
Lafourche Parish officials were alerted about the crude oil spill around 8 a.m. Saturday. An unknown amount of oil entered the bayou from a canal near the intersection of State Highways 308 and 182.
Cleanup efforts started immediately.
Lafourche Parish Water District No. 1 issued a Water Conservation Notice for all customers in the parish until further notice.
