An Alabama man faces charges after reportedly running into a Louisiana state trooper head-on in a DWI crash Wednesday night.

The accident happened on State Highway 24 in Houma

Investigators say 63-year-old Deak Matteson Jr. was driving a pickup truck south in the northbound lanes when he hit the trooper, who was driving northbound.

Matteson reportedly flunked a sobriety test and was arrested for DWI and vehicular negligent injuring.

Both men wore seatbelts. The trooper suffered minor injuries while Mattheson was unhurt.
