The investigation continues into last month's deadly standoff in Jeanerette.

Louisiana State Police have interviewed more than 30 witnesses.

The hostage standoff started when the city marshal tried to serve an arrest warrant for 31-year-old Nyjal Hurst at a home on MLK Drive. Four Lafayette police officers were shot, and one of them was killed

Hurst is in jail on charges of home invasion and aggravated second-degree battery. He faces unrelated charges in St. Mary Parish.

He hasn't yet been charged in the standoff and shooting.
