The Louisiana State Police plan to expand their operations inside the historic Cabildo building in New Orleans, where the Louisiana Purchase was signed in 1803.
Troopers already have a small office on the ground floor of the Cabildo.
They now plan to set up a high-tech hub in the building's upper floors, where surveillance cameras citywide can enable them to keep an eye on things in real time.
Troop NOLA is also placing a new headquarters in the Central Business District.
