Backlash from students and families is prompting the University of New Orleans to reverse its decision to cancel the December graduation ceremony.

The university had decided to eliminate the ceremony as a cost-cutting measure due to budget problems and declining enrollment.

On Friday, UNO President Kathy Johnson said the school will hold three or four smaller ceremonies for fall graduates at the various schools and colleges.

Dates and times for these ceremonies are still being ironed out.
