Another boil-water advisory is now in effect for part of New Orleans East.

The Sewerage & Water Board issued the new advisory on Monday night in response to a water main break at Hayne Boulevard and MacKenzie Street.

The utility says the break caused water pressure in the area to drop below 20 pounds per square inch, the level considered necessary to prevent possible bacteriological contamination.

Residents are advised to use bottled water or boil their tap water before drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth till further notice.
