The campaign to recall the St. Tammany Parish Coroner is sending thousands of mailers to Northshore voters this week.

Organizers are trying to recall Dr. Christopher Tape because of a 2001 charge of child sex abuse in New Mexico that never went to trial.

The recall effort has reportedly collected 14,000 of the nearly 35,000 signatures it needs and has two months left to close the gap.

The $30,000 mailout campaign is distributing 35,000 recall sign-up forms.

Dr. Tape says he's not going anywhere.
