More federal funding for expanded Internet access is coming to Louisiana.

On Monday, Gov. Jeff Landry announced Phase 2 of a $1 billion program aimed at providing broadband access to 140,000 locations across the state.

The funding comes from the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and must be used by the end of the year.

Phase 1 brought Internet access to almost 80,000 Louisiana locations with a grant from the American Rescue Act.
