The Saints have trimmed their roster down to 53 players prior to the start of the regular season.
Among the moves, New Orleans released safety Johnathan Abram, offensive linemen Shane Lemieux and Jesse Davis, linebackers Andrew Dowell and Khaleke Hudson, wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown and running back James Robinson.
The team also placed running back Kendre Miller and tight end Kevin Rader on injured reserve.
Defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon and linebacker Nephi Sewell were put on the PUP list.
The Saints host the Carolina Panthers in their season opener on September 8.
