Former NBA great Charles Barkley is donating $1 million to a New Orleans school.
Officials at St. Mary's Academy announced that Barkley will make the donation over the next ten years.
Barkley reportedly decided to support the all-black Catholic school after two St. Mary's Academy students used trigonometry to prove the Pythagorean Theorem earlier this year. Mathematicians had once considered the feat to be impossible.
St. Mary's received the first of Barkley's $100,000 payments last Friday.
