The Louisiana Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday is now underway, and gun stores are gearing up.

From today through Sunday, consumer purchases of guns, ammo, archery items, hunting knives, and hunting apparel such as camo and wet weather gear are exempt from state and local sales taxes.

The Louisiana Department of Revenue says hunting dogs, animal feed, off-road vehicles, and airboats aren't exempt.

The exemption applies only to purchases by individual consumers, as opposed to business or commercial purchases.
