An intrusion of dry air paused the forecast strengthening of Tropical Storm Francine Monday night.
However, the National Hurricane Center said falling pressure could be a sign that Francine would resume strengthening soon. The storm is forecast to top out at category 2 strength with maximum winds of 100 miles per hour.
The National Hurricane Center said there is an increasing likelihood of a life-threatening storm surge for parts of the Upper Texas and Louisiana coastlines. A risk of flash and urban flooding exists across portions of the Mid-South from Wednesday into Friday morning.
