Mayor LaToya Cantrell is urging New Orleans residents to get ready for shelter-in-place orders as Hurricane Francine approaches.

Leaders in Southeast Louisiana's coastal parishes are urging residents to prepare for the storm's landfall later today.

Mandatory evacuations are ordered for all areas in Jefferson, Terrebonne, Plaquemines, and Lafourche Parishes for residents outside the flood protection levee systems.

Voluntary evacuations and curfews are in effect in other areas, and shelters have been set up.
