Hurricane Francine's maximum sustained winds held at 90 miles per hour Wednesday morning.
The National Hurricane Center said some additional strengthening was possible and again forecast Francine could reach Category 2 strength with winds of 100 miles per hour before landfall later today or tonight.
Francine is expected to make landfall between New Iberia and Houma. A storm surge warning is in effect for the entire Louisiana coastline. Hurricane warnings cover much of the coast and extend as far inland as Baton Rouge.
