The White House is approving Governor Jeff Landry's request for an emergency declaration in Louisiana ahead of Francine's landfall.
Landry declared a state of emergency for the state on Monday.
The governor sent a letter to President Biden requesting assistance from the Army Corps of Engineers, the Coast Guard, the Civil Air Patrol, the Department of Agriculture, and the Fish and Wildlife Service.
On Tuesday, Louisiana's congressional delegation delivered a letter to Biden asking him to approve Landry's request.
