Threat Against Covington School Found To Be Not Credible

A teenager is now in parental custody after being picked up for questioning about a threat to a St. Tammany Parish school.

Police said a threat toward Covington High School was posted on social media on Wednesday, leading to a police presence on campus.

After detaining and questioning the student who reportedly posted the threat, police released him to his parents after 1 p.m.

The investigation had found the threat not to be credible, and Covington police said posted rumors of a shooting at the school were untrue.
