Tulane University's medical school is on the receiving end of its biggest-ever donation.

On Wednesday, Tulane announced philanthropist Celia Scott Weatherhead had made the contribution to the school's downtown campus to help fund population health programs and research.

Tulane President Michael Fitts didn't disclose the exact amount, but said Weatherhead has pledged more than $160 million to the university over the years.

The Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Health is now renamed in Weatherhead's honor.
