Driver To Face Charges After Fatally Running Into DOTD Employee On I-610

A man faces charges after he reportedly hit and killed a Department of Transportation and Development worker on I-610 West in New Orleans.

Louisiana State Police say the accident happened before 2 p.m. on the freeway near Canal Boulevard.

Investigators say 23-year-old Eric Anthony Jr. of New Orleans was a Motorist Assistance Patrol employee who was helping some people involved in an earlier crash.

Police say 26-year-old Oscar Perez-Moran of Arabi will be charged with negligent homicide once he gets out of the hospital.
