The City Council wants Entergy New Orleans to improve its communications with the public before the next hurricane.
Council members met Wednesday with company representatives.
An Entergy spokesman said they could improve internal communications by consolidating Entergy New Orleans and Entergy Louisiana, which are in separate offices.
Entergy also plans to upgrade its online outage map to make it more accurate.
The company said more meetings with the council and the press during weather events would also help.
