The Pelicans are locking up a member of their back court with a new contract.
ESPN reports that New Orleans is signing guard Jose Alvarado to a two-year, $9 million extension prior to the start of the new season.
Alvarado was entering the final year of his current deal and was set to make $1.9 million this season.
The 26-year-old is now signed through the 2025-26 season with a player option for 2026-27.
The high-energy playmaker averaged 7.1 points and 2.1 assists through 56 games played last season.
