The New Orleans Police Department is nearing the end of federal oversight, and the public can weigh in during upcoming meetings, starting with a virtual session on Tuesday.

The meetings will discuss a proposed two-year "sustainment plan" to phase out the 12-year consent decree aimed at police reforms.

While NOPD has made progress, full compliance is still required before final approval from the courts.
